Syracuse, N.Y. – Interstate 81 and Interstate 481 are scheduled to undergo construction beginning Monday resulting in lane closures.
I-81 northbound between the I-690 westbound off-ramp and the Pearl Street on-ramp will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday through Nov. 15, according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.
The lane closures will allow the DOT to conduct a bridge inspection, they said.
All lanes of I-481 northbound between Exit 16A and Rock Cut Road will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning Monday through Friday, according to the DOT.
The closure will allow DOT workers to set steel on the new East Brighton Avenue bridge for the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project, they said.
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour routes and to use caution when driving through work zones, they said.
