Bought this for my father and very lightly used. Item is in like new condition. The chair is heavy and solid so no danger of slipping. With the chair positioned at the table, rotate the seat 90 degrees - it locks! The person is able to seat themselves and then rotates the chair into alignment with the table. Very good for someone with mobility issues to be able to sit at the dining table.
